Encouragement is something that belongs to you as a Christian. You do not have to live in a world of hurt and doubt. You don't have to live alone. You don't have to weep in solitude. You have the body of Christ to lift you up. You have the Word of God to teach you. You have the Holy Spirit indwelling in you who warms your soul. So, the Bible tells us to encourage one another, to remind each other of the truth that God loves us, that God equips us, that we are treasured, that our struggles are worth it. Encouragement from the Bible gives us the will to carry on. It is a glimpse of the bigger picture. It can prevent burn-out. "The better things for you" is the full salvation God has provided in Christ Jesus for the believer. It is the "inheritance" we look forward to in the future (Heb. ). His goal is that they go deeper in God's Word and become Christlike. He wants them to produce fruits of righteousness. The Bible tells us that our identity in Christ is part of accepting His gift of eternal life through faith. Jesus gave His life on earth and rose from the grave to conquer death and sanctify those who believe in Him. When we become followers and believers in Jesus, we lose our identity of this world and embrace our identity in Christ.
